Apache ResilientDB

Apache ResilientDB is an open-source distributed-ledger platform originating at ExpoLab, UC Davis. It brings together Byzantine fault-tolerant consensus and database systems to support reliable transaction processing across distributed replicas.
System design
ResilientDB uses a multi-threaded architecture with parallelism and pipelining to organize consensus and transaction processing. The system includes an optimized PBFT implementation, durable storage, and application interfaces for key-value services and smart contracts. GraphQL APIs, SDKs, and deployment tooling connect the core ledger to applications and make it accessible for systems research and experimentation.
My role
I serve as a Podling Project Management Committee (PPMC) member, conduct research on the platform, and help maintain the system. My work on ResilientDB connects my research interests in consensus protocols and distributed databases with an actively maintained open-source system.
I am leading the upcoming v1.13.0 release, scheduled for September 30, 2026. The release milestone tracks the work included in this release.
